The zoo’s Hall of Animals highlights such creatures as the Posion Dart Frog, Red-Crested Turaco, Fly River Turtle, and fennec fox.
In addition to the zoo’s diverse animal collections, the Prospect Park Zoo is home to a number of artistic sculptures. A limestone relief work by F.G.R. Roth depicts Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves. A sculpture of the Lioness and Cubs by Victor Peter was also installed in the park. The sculptures, which are located east of the sea lion pond, were gifted by noted sculptor Frederick MacMonnies.
To visit the Prospect Park Zoo, you’ll need about 1.5 to two hours. However, you may need more time if you want to visit all the exhibits.
