Types of Fixed Ladders We Fabricate and Install

Steel Masters fabricates all types of fixed access ladders for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings across New York City. Fixed roof access ladders are the most common request — wall-mounted steel ladders providing permanent rooftop access for maintenance crews, HVAC technicians, and building staff. Ships ladders are steep-angle ladders (typically 50–75°) used where space is tight and a standard staircase won’t fit — common in mechanical rooms, mezzanines, and tight interior access points. Cage ladders feature welded safety hoops or a full safety cage surrounding the ladder exceeding 20 feet in height. Crossover ladders allow workers to safely cross over elevated pipes, equipment, or rooftop obstructions. Coal chute and specialty access ladders are also fabricated for older NYC buildings with unique access requirements.
