Structural Steel Floor & Stair Opening Closures
When a stair is removed or a floor opening is no longer needed, the hole has to be framed and decked back into the structure. We cut in the new beams, weld the framing to the existing steel, and close the opening so the floor carries load again - working from an engineer's design and our own in-house shop drawings.

New equipment, new storage racking, or a change of use can put a floor past what it was built to carry. We fit sistered beams, added columns and reinforcing framing to your engineer's load numbers, planning the sequence, access and shoring before steel reaches an occupied building.
Structural Steel Plate Installations
Plate work covers an opening, spreads a load, protects a slab, or bridges a trench until the permanent repair is done. Plates are cut, drilled and beveled to size in our Brooklyn shop - no rough field-cut edges - and set by our crew with the anchoring the location calls for.
Structural Steel Mechanical Room Catwalks
Grating walkways on welded steel framing give mechanics a safe route across a roof or over equipment, with guard rails the full length. Panels are clipped rather than welded so a section lifts out when the duct, pipe or conduit run below needs service.
Structural Steel Roof Dunnage
Dunnage is the steel framework that carries rooftop HVAC units, condensers and cooling towers above the roof surface. We fabricate pocketed, floating moment-connection and through-roof post configurations, each engineered to the equipment weight and the roof structure it lands on.
