Floor systems are grating, checker plate, or metal deck with a poured slab, chosen for load, sightline and finish needs. Stairs and ladders bring access up to the deck, and perimeter railings and gates secure every open edge, including pallet drop points at material lifts.

Freestanding vs. Building-Supported

A freestanding mezzanine carries its own load on independent columns and footings, which keeps it out of the existing structure's load path entirely - usually the simpler route in a leased warehouse where you can't modify the building's steel.

A building-supported mezzanine ties framing into existing columns or beams, which can reduce the number of new footings but requires the existing structure to have the reserve capacity, verified by an engineer before we design the connections.
